Esky belt CP mods

Postby leddmirage » Sun Jun 03, 2007 6:34 pm

Hi,
i've modded my belt CP with mini titan's servo tray. it works great too.
all you need is a bag of mini titan's plastic servo tray(RM15) and 1.0 drill bit + 3-4 hrs of work.
i took out all those messy linkage rod, and hooked the swash directly to the 3 servos. :) i'm not the first, if you look in daddy hobby website, u'll find more details..
tested today at TMJ, it works. 8)

form today's funfly, i notice that the belt cp is much more responsive now.

nice work leddmirage.

ckc, u can start considering direct linkage on your belt cp.

thanks ckc & jylc,
main difference i noticed:
1) the cheapest way to upgrade to a direct CCPM heli without buying another one  (mini titan is really tempting )
2) the heli is lighter if the linkage is removed.
3) no more linkage freeplay to swash.
4) the CG is better cos all the servos are move toward the center, but still i had to add some weight to canopy to balance the tail. (stock heli setup)
stock: 2 servo towards the tail and 1 on nose.
mod: 3 servo close center.
5) i'm still a newbie but i think response is bit better.

Ledd, good job done on the B-cp !

I did my direct servo links to my T-rex460 XL using the same MT servo trays . The servo response of the heli is similar to my T-rex SE now.

A cheap trick but make a night /day improvement to the heli with a direct linkage between servo and swash.

i do agree with greyzee. with direct linkage, the heli is much responsive. but do bear in mind, if you are using a low quality servo, your servo might go off easily. so, do have some servos standby.
